Shift: Full Time Nights 7P-7A (rotating weekends) and holidays
Job Summary
The Medical-Surgical RN accepts the responsibility and accountability for patients on the 16-bed unit and administers direct and indirect patient care. The Nurse to Patient Ratio is 2:1 or 3:1 for this unit.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide quality patient care, in keeping with the philosophy and objectives of the hospital and department
- Prescribes, delegates and coordinates all nursing care provided to assigned patients
- Assess & reassess patient condition, initiate plan of care and begin discharge planning on admission
- Meet the personal and practical needs of patients and families
- Continue self-development, provide leadership & actively participate in Performance Improvement Activities
- Directs others as needed
Qualifications:
- Acute Care or Critical Care experience required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing - BSN strongly preferred
- Current CPR certification issued by American Heart Association; ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire
- Certification in specialty area preferred
